There was yet another birthday at the preschool today. Mrs. Dunn was celebrating and with the help of my friend Ro it was decided I would make Chinese Food Cupcakes for Today’s celebration.
Here is the finished cupcakes.
Today I had to bake bread after Joshua’s kind request yesterday.
I decided to make a double batch of dough. An experiment I have wanted to try for a while. With a Beef Stew in the Crockpot, I wanted a loaf of bread and some bread rolls to have with dinner later… Perfect Football watching food!
I used my White Bread recipe doubled everything and added 3 tbs of Flaxseed.
The kitchen aid was struggling so I dumped it out and continued to knead by hand. Arm workout for today!
I split the dough in two to let it double and then continued as normal. I made one loaf and 12 Rolls.
My ever so polite son, smelt the bread and said ” Please can you make some more delicious cupcakes, they are so good”
So I just knocked up a batch of butter cupcakes with a hint of orange.
I had to sort of cheat, I used a box mix due to lack of from scratch ingredients. I added 1 cup of buttermilk, increased the eggs and added orange zest and juice.
11 of them have a surprise baked inside, 13 do not.
I am not sure if my eldest son has in fact waged any cupcakes on Football Games today. If he has there are plenty, if not then the Queens at King of Kings Preschool can have one for a donation to my Kick Cancer Overboard Fundraising. Josh must not eat them all!
I decided to add a little Chocolate frosting to the top… I love Chocolate Orange so they should taste great.
Another opportunity arrived for me to bake this week.
At preschool we held a baby shower during lunch for our Director. Little Gavin should be with us shortly.
I made these cupcakes I couldn’t help humming Baby face, you got the cutest little baby face!
I am thinking of a cupcake sale to help raise funds needed for Kick Cancer Overboard. Read my early post detailing my decision to run a 1/2 marathon and help send a cancer victim on a vacation.
If you would like to see a Cupcake fundraiser let me know!
Here are the Cupcakes!
Big game today and I wanted to bake…
So we have Giant v Packers Cupcake Wars!
These cupcakes are chocolate surprise, the surprise is there is a milky way baked in the middle!
I am a closet Green Bay fan and living in a household of Cowboy fans my Cheesehead can only come out when the Cowboys are done!
Here it is all dusted off!
Those Packers lost… Sad but true.
Next week I am joining my dear friend Barb in supporting her team the 49ers. How could I not, the game yesterday was an incredible game!
Now what cupcakes shall I bake next week?
My friend Heather gifted me a Cupcake book for Christmas. If you know me or have read past posts on my blog then you will know I love to bake, and this was the perfect gift!
I was thrilled and of course I want to have a go at making as many as I can. Being a Weight Watcher I had to hatch a plan that would allow me to bake but not consume all 24 cupcakes that could possible be created out of one batch of cake mix!
I devised a devilish plan to bake cakes for my work colleagues. I think in the Weight Watcher world that would make me a saboteur if any of them are watching their weight, but needs must and I need to bake and not pack on the pounds!
I pulled out my birthday list and was surprised to see I did not have to wait very long until I could create some delicious birthday cupcake treats! Birthday Cupcakes should be made for the person receiving not making, so I decided to think long, hard and choose carefully what I would like to present to that friend with a candle on top.
Now, this birthday friend is expecting her third child, luckily I do not fall in to the saboteur category this time!
Sickness has been a problem, but lucky for her McDonalds is close by and she can stomach that.
So the Cupcakes topped with French Fries had to be it, it just make perfect sense!
The big day is today and I cannot wait to present them to her tomorrow during lunch!
Here are some pics taken during the baking process….
